Advocate NWT started with a small grant from the Glocal Foundation of Canada. Initially, the goal was to push for a Child and Youth Advocacy Act in the NWT, creating an independent office to uphold children's rights and hold the territorial government accountable. As the project progressed, its focus has broadened to include other key issues affecting children and youth in the NWT.
